The evening of July 31, 1996 finds the IC3 train set at Solana Beach, CA on train #585. Because of the heavy summer time crowds, the 250 seats on the IC3 couldn't replace the 400 seats of a regular consist. Thus, second sections with regular equipment usually followed the IC3 on train 585.
