The sun is going down on June 4, 1984 when a westbound goes through the crossovers at LaGrange, IL. A matched set of BN SD40-2's, 6785-6798-6781-6721, are spliced by fuel tender FT4. In the 1980's BN experimented with fuel tenders as a way to avoid refueling engines in states with high fuel costs and taxes.
